AVGL Launches Esports Campus Tour to Support Gaming Clubs

The AVGL will leverage its relationships with gaming clubs, campus esports leaders, and school administrators to run an Esports Campus Tour across the US from August 22 – September 29.

The AVGL, with the support of HyperX, will collaborate to develop an activation at major campus events to help draw attention to the club and showcase esports. The activation will include gaming stations, product showcases, and giveaways.

The Tour will focus on schools in three regions:

  • University of North Texas
  • Baylor University
  • Texas Tech
  • University of Texas: San Antonio

  • Georgia Tech
  • Georgia State
  • Kennesaw State University

  • Colorado State University
  • University of Colorado, Boulder
  • University of Colorado, Colorado Springs
  • University of Denver

The AVGL plans to build out a larger scale Tour in 2019, featuring more campuses, larger activations, and a post-tour online tournament. The Tour will run alongside the AVGL’s other college esports initiatives, including online leagues, championship events, and Dreamhack.

AVGL Tour Experience

In 2016, the AVGL helped organize an 80-campus college esports tour with Newegg including a Rocket League and Hearthstone tournament. Over 850 players registered for the tournament by visiting a booth at campus events. At the conclusion of the tour, players from all campuses competed online in a massive, single elimination tournament that was broadcasted live on Twitch.
