Collegiate Esports Takes Main Stage at DreamHack Austin

Collegiate esports will be bigger than ever at DreamHack Austin with an additional day of competition on the DreamHack Main Stage! The AVGL will be organizing 3 days of tournaments featuring Rocket League, League of Legends, and Arena of Valor.

League of Legends: The online league featured over 100 college teams who competed over five weeks to earn a spot at the Austin grand finals. The top two teams who will compete in Austin will be the RMU Eagles and Laval University. Regional college rivals including University of Texas Austin, University of Texas Arlington, University of North Texas, Texas A&M, and Baylor University will compete in the grudge matches.

Rocket League Tournament: The AVGL will host a one-day tournament among local schools including University of Texas at Austin, University of Texas Dallas, Texas A&M, and University of North Texas.

Mobile Esports Grudge Matches: In its inaugural year, the Dreamhack main stage will feature AVGL hosted Arena of Valor grudge matches amongst local colleges.

All of these matches will be broadcast June 1 – June 3 at www.twitch.tv/dreamhack, on the following schedule:

Friday, June 1 (10am – 6pm CDT): Rocket League Tournament

Saturday, June 2 (10am – 6pm CDT): League of Legends Grand Finals, League of Legends Grudge Matches, Mobile Esports Grudge Matches

Sunday, June 3 (10am – 4pm CDT): League of Legends Grudge Matches
