CEVO to host The ELEAGUE Major: Boston Online Qualifiers - Register Today!

Thursday, October 5th, 2017

ELEAGUE, the premium esports tournament and content brand from Turner and IMG, will hold its second Major Championship in two years featuring Valve’s popular Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The ELEAGUE Major: Boston will showcase live competition originating from Boston University’s Agganis Arena – including the Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Championship – Friday through Sunday, January 26-28.

CEVO is thrilled to have been selected as the host of the official ELEAGUE Major: Boston - Online Qualifiers. Below you will find the format & schedule for each region's qualifier.

Online qualifier features:

  • All matches played on premium 128-tickrate CEVO game servers across 15+ geographic locations protected by CEVO's proprietary anti-cheat technology
  • Complete live personal & team statistics for every match and individual ranking on the Event Leaderboards
  • Pick/Ban maps just like the Pros with our automated in-client veto system
  • CEVO's automated match server plugin
  • Access to automated scrim system to prepare for the tournament
  • Automatic recording and storage of all match GOTV demos
  • Real-time updated tournament brackets and team rankings
  • Helpful tournament officials available for LIVE support throughout the tournament

As a reminder, players with CS:GO VAC bans will not be eligible to participate in this event. If you have any questions about your eligibility, please contact CEVO Support.

Also, there will be no roster changes permitted at any stage of the ELEAGUE Major: Boston tournaments after a team has started the qualification process.

For example, a team who qualifies from the Open Online Qualifier must use the exact same roster in the Closed Online Qualifier and/or the Minor Championship. Should a team advance from the Minor Championship, they will be required to continue to use this same roster for the remaining stages of the event.

CIS Open Online Qualifier (October 9-10, 2017)
- 256 team single-elimination bracket with best-of-one (bo1) matches / best-of-three (bo3) matches from the Round of 32
- all matches in the CIS conference will be listed in Moscow Standard Time (MSK UTC +3)
- the top six teams from the CIS Open Online Qualifier will advance to the ELEAGUE Major: Boston - CIS Minor Championship
- The ELEAGUE Major: Boston - CIS Minor Championship will take place on October 26th-29th in Bucharest, Romania
- Team Spirit and Tengri have been directly invited to the ELEAGUE Major: Boston - CIS Minor Championship
- seeds will be decided randomly

Monday, October 9th:
Round of 256 (bo1): 6:00 PM MSK

- the top eight teams from the European Open Online Qualifier will advance to the European Closed Online Qualifier

- the top eight teams from the European Closed Online Qualifier will advance to the ELEAGUE Major: Boston – EU Minor Championship
- LDLC, Godsent, OpTic, Hellraisers, EnVyUs, NiP, SpaceSoldiers, and Heroic have been invited to the European Closed Qualifier
- The ELEAGUE Major: Boston – EU Minor Championship will take place on November 2nd-5th in Bucharest, Romania

Why would you use single elimination bracket in open qualifier when there is only one qualifier for closed phase this time? Seems not a way to get best teams to closed phase. This qualifier is extremely important for many teams so this just does not seem fair and good system at all when it is major they are trying to get in the end and not just another event...
