CSL CS:GO 2016/2017 Season - Team Registration is Now Open!

Thursday, September 1st, 2016

Registration season for the 2016-2017 CSL season is now open! For the entire month of September, we will be accepting teams for CS:GO, Dota 2, League of Legends (D2/D3 ONLY), Starcraft 2, and Vainglory. Registration period will end at 11:59pm PST on September 30th. As stated in previous news, the official CSL Hearthstone and Overwatch leagues are cancelled for the season. You can read more about it here.

CS:GO will have 2 Divisions

  • Division 1 - $150

  • Division 2 - $30 (Minimum 16 teams)

Note that Division 1 for all games has a limit of 1 team per school. This is considered the “official” school team for the most competitive division. Division 2 and 3 has no team limit.

STEPS TO REGISTER FOR THE SEASON

STEP 1 - USER REGISTRATION

STEP 2 - CREATE A TEAM

  • Click on the UNIVERSITIES tab and join an existing team (or create a new one under CREATE TEAM) under your school for your specific game title

  • Coordinators should invite their teammates to the team or have their teammates request to join

  • Note if your school is not yet in our database, email admin@cstarleague.com to be added

STEP 3 - ENROLL YOUR TEAM FOR THE SEASON

  • Coordinators: on your team page, the right side will list the various divisions that are available for your game (if applicable) with a CLICK HERE TO ENROLL button at the bottom

  • Select the specific team and division you want to enroll under (Note: all teams you are coordinator of will be listed)

  • Input your payment information (Any credit card or Visa/Mastercard debit card); if the listed fee is $0, it will automatically bypass

  • Note that there is only 1 team allowed for Division 1 and you will receive an error if there is already a Division 1 team for your school for your game. If there is a dispute over the Division 1 spot, contact us atadmin@cstarleague.com for assistance.

  • If everything went well, your team page will now display a checkmark and state you are registered for XYZ DIVISION

At this point, most teams will be complete with their team registration, EXCEPT CSGO. CSGO teams will need to continue onto the following step:

STEP 4 - CSGO REGISTRATION ON CEVO

  • Make sure you have finalized registering on the CSL website FIRST, as the CEVO system will check if you have finalized registration on our backend

  • Register an account on the CEVO website, input the same steamID information in your CSL profile, and verify your account

  • Navigate to the CSL event page: cevo.com/event/csl

  • Click JOIN OR CREATE A TEAM

    • Team coordinator will create a CEVO team - MAKE SURE THE TEAM NAME IS THE SAME AS ON THE CSL SITE

    • Members can join after the CEVO team is created

  • Note: When a team is created or a player joins a team, their credentials are automatically sent to the CSL admin backend for verification; if you did not follow the registration information on the CSL site precisely, you will receive an error. Make sure your CSL account is verified, the team has paid, and that all user steamIDs are the same on both CSL/CEVO

  • If everything went well, your team will be automatically enrolled in Division 2 on the CEVO event page; note that ALL teams are defaulted to Division 2 and Division 1 teams will be moved periodically as we send that information to CEVO

  • All CSGO competitors will need to install the CEVO client in order to play their matches, which can be downloaded here.

At this point, your team will be properly registered and enrolled for the season. Please read through the rules for your specific games to be ready for the upcoming season. Matches Begin October 8th!
